Cricut Cartridge for sale

April Card Club

I know it's a little early but I've scheduled our April card club for the 19th.  We will be continuing some more new techniques in this class but I will also give a Sure cuts a lot demo at the end of class for anyone interested.   I know that some of you have asked me about it and are interested in purchasing it so I wanted to give you some great info. to go home with.  Please let me know who will be attending.

Mark and Lucy's shower card

Yes, last weekend was the weekend of showers.  One wedding shower and one baby shower.  Yesterday I showed you the baby card and this was the Wedding shower card.  I tried to be a little on the non-traditional side of designs.  I know it would be typical to do maybe some wedding bells or doves.  I went for some pears (or pairs).  Lucy loved it.

Easel Card

I know that I haven't been uploading many posts lately but I've been so busy working on a baby scrapbook for my friend Vicky's baby shower.  I'm actually going to the shower today and finally finished her book yesterday.  It's all wrapped up and I didn't even take 1 picture of it.  I totally forgot.  Oh well.  I don't think that I'll be making another for a while anyway.  I will be posting the card that I made for her tomorrow though. 
I do have another card to show you today though.  This card was made for my mother in law Ellie for her Birthday that was on the 14th.  I've been wanting to make this type of card for a little while now but never attempted to.  I am so sorry that I didn't do it earlier because it seems to be one of my favorite folding techniques.  I got the score dimensions from Beate Johns.  She had a video on youtube and also has a tutorial on it on split coast stampers.  Click Here to get the video.  

Sharing Some Pages

Hi All,
I thought I would share some scrapbook pages that my friend Rhonda sent to me a few days ago.  It's nice to know that other people got back into scrapping as well.  Rhonda has had this hobby for a number of years now and loves it just as much as I do.  She only wishes that she had more time to spend doing it (don't we all).   These pages came out great!

March Card Club

Hello Everyone!  I can't believe that it's March already.  It's going to be a very busy Month so I hope that those of you that want to join us for card club can make it.  We will be meeting on the Friday the 12th at 7pm.  Some of you showed interest in doing some different techniques so I thought that we would play around with some watercolor pencils this month.  It gives a really nice look when you want to color in your stamped images.  Please email me if you will be joining us this month.  Happy Stamping!

Finally started scrapbooking again!

I hope that I can keep going on these scrapbook pages this time.  It seems that everytime I get back into my groove with the scrapping, I end up having a card to make.  Not that I'm complaining.  I scrapped Halloween 2008 and coloring easter eggs 2009.  I know that I'm jumping around but my pictures are not in order and it's kind of fun and not so structured doing different dates in a mixed up kind of order.  I still add them to my books in order according to month and year.  As you can see, I usually try to do a left and right page that coordinate.  Sometimes I have an odd page like the halloween page.  There were a lot of pictures and I can't just do some and not others.  Enjoy!

My first photo tutorial

Just like I promised in my last post.  I have taken some step by step photos of the card that we made in last weeks card club that had that cute pilgrim boat with it's shadow coming off the water.   Just click on the post title and it will take you right to it on my blog.  I'll also be posting some of the scrapbook pages that I just finished from my 2008 photos.  Yes, I am so behind on my scrapbooking but I've been trying to work on it whenever I find the time.

White cardstock base is cut at 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4 and your tan cardstock cut at 4x5 1/4

Using my Creative memories wave cutter, I used the outside wave and lined it up on the left side to make a slight ocean wave on a light blue piece of cardstock measureing at 4x2 1/2

Line up your boat (from the paper dolls cricut cartridge/pilgrim) and fold the boat forward so you can ink in your shadow.

I cut 2 boats so that I could use 1 to ink with and 1 for the card.  I did this because my dimensionals had a hard time sticking to the inked side of the boat.

I just used a color a little darker then my paper

I then used an exacto knife to scrape up the edges of the tan paper

I used Ranger's Distress ink in walnut to distress the scrapped up edges and finished up the card with some clouds, a birthday sentiment and popped up my boat on dimensionals.

Birthday cards

Here are the cards that we made this past Friday night at card club.  It was a birthday themed night and I tried to make sure that every age group was covered.   Everyone did such a nice job.  Some of us sometimes do get a little messy with the ink and glitter (you know who you are, he he) but it always turns out to be a good laugh.   I'll just list the materials used on these cards and if anyone has any questions, just let me know.

I'm going to be putting together a photo tutorial on making this last card for some of the people that couldn't make it to card club this month.  I love the way it turned out.  It's always hard for me to create a masculine card because most items out there are dedicated to girls but this one is perfect for a guy of any age.  I should have it up in the next couple of days.

February Card club

It seems like February is getting away from me already and it just started. One of our card clubbers asked me today when our February card club was going to be. I hadn't even thought about it. Since we're already at our first Friday of the month, let's skip over next Friday since it's Valentines weekend and have our next card club on the 19th. Mojo Monday sketch challenge

This month's sketch challenge came at a perfect time because I have a ton of cards that I need to make. I made this card for my Nephew Jake's 6th birthday that's coming up very soon. I've been waiting to use this cute monster stamp for a while and finally got the chance to. The only thing that I wished that I had for this card was some green flock. How great would it be to have a furry monster on this card. Maybe next time.

Valentine's Day Card

Here are the 3 cards that we made at last week's card club. We made a simple tab top card with a big red heart and some stamping by stampendous and a sentiment stamp by one of those great $1 stamps from Michaels. The 2nd card I loved to make because I used my wood grain background stamp with red instead of the usual brown. The 3rd card was my favorite. I just grabbed 4 coordinating papers. Punched out a bunch of 1 1/8 squares and then just made sure that no same square was in the same row or column. Can't get any easier than that. This is a great layout idea for any occassion. I don't know if you all remember the card that I made for my husband that I tucked into his suitcase when he went away on a business trip, it was the same layout. Tanya's cards

Last week at card club, Tanya told me that she made her own Christmas cards this year. Now she probably just started coming to card club maybe 3 months ago and now she's hooked. She even got upset when she couldn't come one month because she had a wedding to go to. That's what you call a dedicated stamper. She has her eye on a bunch of the great tools out there but I think she did pretty good with what she already has. Here's some photos that she sent me.

Etsy favor boxes

I don't know if any of you checked out the cute favor boxes that I made with my sure cuts a lot, but I'm having so much fun making them. They are listed in my etsy shop. I just made some random styles but they are custom made for the occasion. I'm sure that some of you will recognize the names on the wedding favor heart box.

Happy Anniversary for Mom & Dad

I really should have worked on my Dad's birthday card today since his birthday is on the 13th and their anniversary is on the 17th but I've had this layout in my head since New Years eve and when I came up with my papers, it really wasn't a man themed choice. The papers used were different that the usual. The pink came from a glittered sheet that I picked up at Target and the pressed flowers paper is from a hand pressed paper pack that I picked up at Costco about 3 years ago. The flower is stamped from a Martha Stewart set that I think is called fine and dandy. It's a 2 step stamp set. We'll also be using this layout at our next card club but with a different sentiment. January Card Club

Hello everyone, I can't believe that I haven't posted since December 11th. I guess December really was a busy month.
