Sketch Saturday Challenge entry

Here's a card that I made for this weeks Sketch Saturday. The sketch sites are located to the left of my blog in case you wanted to check them out. This card has one of my favorite stamps sets by Stampin up called Tart n tangy. The sentiment is from the mega mixed messages by paper trey ink. Not really sure what paper packs these came from since I found them in my scrap draw. I also added some diamond stickles to the dots on the strawberry and apple. This card is also being added to my etsy store.

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge

Yes it's true, I had to take my card outside to take a picture. This card is for the Sweet Sunday sketch challenge and the deadline is in a few hours. The sun has already gone down and I had no more natural light in the house. I had to take it out to the front steps. The cardstock base was embossed with the cuttlebug D'vine Swirls folder. The olive green cardstock was also embossed with the "just my type" border set. The paper in the 3 circles are from a handmade paper pack that I picked up a couple of years ago of pressed leaves. A button, prima flowers and a congrats stamp finish off this card. Let me know what you think.

Happy Birthday cupcake

I have 2 posts for today. This one is a very easy layout. You know when you get those days when you want to make something but nothing inspires you. I found that the best thing to do is cut out strips of different papers with different patterns or textures and just line them up together. Add one of your favorites toppings and call it a day. I was very pleased with the way this one turned out. Not only is it a great layout, but I went into my paper scrap draw and used up some old scraps. I even ran some of the solid papers through the cuttlebug with the swiss dots embossing folder. I used the cupcake stamp set that I used in another post and dressed it up. That top note shape on the top of the card was from a Martha Stewart frame stamp set that I stamped and cut out. I love that shape. I also used a Martha Stewart doily border punch. This card will be for sale in my etsy store.

Friendship greeting

I just love these little birds by Inkadinkado. They remind me of a bunch of girlfriends talking. I had no real occasion for making this card except that I wanted to use this paper pack by K and Company. I thought that it was a good enough reason to make a card. I love new products or tool. I usually use them within the first day of having them. The sentiment on the card is again by my favorite sentiment set Mega Mixed Messages by Paper trey ink. I will be listing this one in my Etsy store for sale.

Accordian fold technique

This is a great technique that I discovered over at Becky Ochlers' blog. The bottom piece of patterned paper is scored every other 1" and 1/2". It's folded like an accordian and then glued down to kind of make a ruffle at the bottom of your card. Some faux stitching with a white gel pen, prima flower, flourish clear stamp in white (colorbox ink) and ribbon finish off a very easy card.

Cupcake birthday

Here is a card that I made for my Niece Emma's 5th birthday. This was from a paperpack that I picked up at my local Michaels store. It's an awsome set from "me & my BIG ideas". The scallop on the bottom of the stripes were already on the paper but you can always add your own scallops with a border punch. I don't remember the name of the stamp set that I got this cupcake from. Cupcakes are so hot right now that it shouldn't be any problem finding one. I stamped it in blue colorbox fluid chalk and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I continued to color it in with la Plume markers. Let's not forget the frosting. I used a zig 2 way pen to add some adhesive and sprinkled some crystal glitter. My sentiment is by Paper trey ink. It's the mega mixed messages. It's wonderful and it's got everything you need.

My Scrap Room

Here it is. My room in the basement where I try to escape to as much as I can but don't see often enough. I hold card clubs here once a month and can seat up to 8 people. I love having my own space and could not imagine if all of my supplies were all over the house. I'm very lucky.
